This redesign of Event Cinemas and Cinebuzz made in Figma aimed to improve the current website through applying principles of
Human-Computer Interaction and UI/UX Design. Through implementation of Gamification techniques in the core engagement loop of Event Cinemas in its booking process, this redesign aims to heighten user engagement and leverage user loyalty to maintain and increase its userbase.
Redesign Current User Interface
Apply principles of Human-Computer Interaction
After Analysis of current UI/UX issues through the lens of Norman's principles, this redesign targeted better visibility and feedback across pages to ensure a clean visual hierarchy. The aim is to elevate the user experience across all pages to result in greater user retention.
Implement New Gamification
Expand Cinebuzz services
The proposed gamification features aim to increase the core engagement loop of Event Cinemas - the booking process. This is achieved through focusing features involving both individual personalisation and rewards, as well as social and community elements, targeting user intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. The following features are proposed:
Targeted user recommendations.
'Popcorn' currency used to obtain in-cinema rewards gained through engaging with Cinebuzz services.
Community elements including the ability to add friends to book and send tickets to.
User reviews and forum pages, allowing users to discover all potential information needed that encourages booking.
Enhanced profile customisation.

Conduct Usability testing through a heuristic analysis.
Iterate on the design from data gathered in usability testing.
To test the usability of the redesign, user experience testing was performed to gather both qualitative and quantitative data across pages. Through performing affinity mapping and cognitive walkthroughs, conclusions were reached about pain points present in the prototype, allowing for iteration to improve upon user issues to ensure a seamless experience.
